Lhoist, Fluxys, Prefer and Orbix formed a consortium to industrialize an innovative process consisting in utilization of CO2 exhausting from Lhoist kilns by company Prefer. The process uses the CO2 as carbonating agent to solidify concrete construction blocks. The CO2 is therefore chemically captured in the blocks.
IPS has been contracted as engineering office to this project by the consortium. We supported the customer in the definition of the process, using experimental data from pilot unit to design industrial scale facility.
