Green Leaf hybrid EAF

AM Hochfeld in Duisburg is currently operating with 2 BOFs. Following the AM Green Leaf Hybrid EAF project towards CO2 reduction, AM Hochfeld Duisburg intends to build a HYBRID EAF in its facilities.

The HM supply for the plant, currently provided by thyssenkrupp Steel, is planned to end in 2025. Hereafter the AM plant in Hamburg will produce DRI for AM Hochfeld which will be delivered by train. This with the aim for a more flexible metallic charge.

Project scope: DRI unloading, scarp handling, EAF, dedusting, WWTP, Electric supply, Utilities, slag treatment, HVAC, logistics, HVAC, fire fighting, etc.

Realization

start: 2022 - end: 2023
